Whales
Baleen whales, including the Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus), have two blowholes.
Toothed whales, like Sperm Whales, Orca and Dolphins have one blowhole.

Five different species of baleen whales are known in the seas surrounding Sri Lanka.
These are Blue Whales, Northern Minke Whales, Tropical Whales, Fin Whales and Humpback Whales.
Known toothed whales species include Sperm Whales, Orca, twelve more smaller species of toothed whales, nine species of dolphins and one species of porpoise (the Finless Porpoise).
